About the artist

SANGGI LEE
Every day, new emotions arise, reminding me that I am alive.
Furthermore, emotions fascinate me. The more I analyze and try to understand them, the more I realize that they cannot be neatly or clearly defined, as dictionaries might suggest. Just as the feeling of love shifts in warmth, depth, and weight depending on my circumstances, emotions hold complexities that no single word can fully capture.
As an artist, I am constantly seeking ways to translate these intricate emotions into visual form. I don’t just paint what I feel—I strive to capture the moments, the context, and the reasons behind those feelings. In that sense, my paintings are like a diary, a record of my emotional exploration.
